Mardi Gras 2022

Whilst The Sydney (LGBTIQ) Mardi Gras became a very different beast in the last couple of years because of Covid 19, it’s still celebrated widely and passionately. There’s no question that it’s evolved from it’s beginnings as an angry protest march in 1978 to become a global festival of celebration and pride. For Mardi Gras 2021, I worked with the Darlinghurst Business Partnership’s flagship event ‘Oxtravaganza’ and Bourke Street businesses to show a collection of queer life images in their street windows. The Bourke St exhibition happened again this year extending also into Macleay St Potts Point! This was a new ‘Post Covid’ collection of images about re-connection. Here are a few I loved this year.
